PASSING OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

It is with deep sadness that the Thungela Resources Limited board of directors ("Board") learned of the
passing away of Thero Micarios Lesego Setiloane on 01 May 2024.

Thero served as an Independent Non-Executive Director since 07 March 2021. His contribution to the
Group, his in-depth knowledge of the mining sector, and his warm personality will be missed.

Thero also served as the Chairman of the Social Ethics and Transformation Committee, a member of the
Audit Committee and a member of the Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Committee.

The Board extends their condolences to his family during this difficult time.
