Our Enterprise and Supplier Development programme

Welcome to Thungela’s Enterprise and Supplier Development programme, Thuthukani, meaning “uplift” in Zulu. The programme implemented in partnership with Raizcorp, our Business Development Support Partner (BDSP) is aimed at growing your business through provision of tailored business skills, one-on-one business guidance and technical enablement. Loan funding can also be made available to applicants doing business with Thungela in partnership with our fund administrator Absa, at preferential interest rates.

Thuthukani

Thuthukani, Thungela's enterprise and supplier development program in partnership with Raizcorp, has successfully graduated its first group of 14 local entrepreneurs. The program offers hands-on entrepreneurial learning, technical enablement, development, and mentorship to help community entrepreneurs become profitable and sustainable.

Over the course of the program, participants completed 22 modules covering business development essentials, focusing on creating robust business cases, understanding operations, and establishing market presence. Sandile Mkono, Thungela’s enterprise and supplier development manager, highlighted the comprehensive skill set provided, while graduate Mthobisi Thomo noted the significant improvement in his financial management abilities, enabling him to manage his business finances with precision.
